Couples
Many of us experience difficulties in our relationships at some time or other in our lives. If communication has broken down or you would like a chance to talk and listen in a structured setting, couples counselling provides a safe and supportive environment away from daily life to talk, listen, express feelings and reflect to better understand how you feel and how you interact in your relationship. Current difficulties are explored in the context of family background.
Examples of ProTherapy working with couples include:
- Restoring connection in your relationships
- Improving communication
- Heightened awareness of your own, and your partner's, needs
We also work with couples who are contemplating ending a marriage or long-term relationship. Exploring this difficult process enables individuals to re-build important aspects of their lives.
Psychosexual Therapy
We work with individuals, and couples, who are experiencing difficulties in their sexual relationship. Talking through these psychosexual difficulties can be problematic for some people. Sexual issues may be linked, for example, to medical conditions, life events or loss of libido.
Some of the sexual difficulties include:
- erectile dysfunction
- premature or delayed ejaculation
- loss of sexual desire
- orgasm difficulties
- painful intercourse
- lack of intimacy
Psychosexual therapy addresses both the symptom and underlying cause. A structured treatment programme is offered, usually on a weekly basis.
