Telephone counselling
Counselling by telephone may be defined as a service whereby a trained therapist works with a client, by telephone or Skype, to enable the client to explore personal situations, problems or crises in a one-off or in an on-going longer term therapeutic relationship. A contract would be agreed between the therapist and the client during an initial session which would include method of payment.

For some people Telephone Counselling may have advantages over face to face consultations:
- Travel may be difficult due to physical or mental disability
- Family or work commitments may limit time available for travel
- Face to face contact may feel threatening or intimidating
- Leaving the security of home may be difficult due to stress or anxiety
- Convenience and flexibility are increased
- No travel time or costs
We will provide a safe, confidential setting in which you can explore your issues and difficulties and, if appropriate, move towards change. During the initial session the counsellor will detail boundaries of confidentiality, what happens if either you or the counsellor are ill, cancellations, method of payment and any other questions you may have.
The caller would pay for the call and the cost of the session. Sessions are available by appointment only and could be scheduled for either day or evening. A session can typically be either 25 minutes or 50 minute duration.
